Be prepared - Prides are coming!
The Christopher Street Day is an important day in the calendar of LGBTQ+-Communities around the world. It commemorates the Stonewall riots in New York City in 1969, when LGBTQ+ people defended themselves against police arbitrariness and discrimination. Christopher Street Day is now a celebration of diversity and equality celebrated around the world.
If you want to take part in a Christopher Street Day demonstration, there are a few things you should keep in mind. Here's a small one checklistwho can help you:
-
Find out about the background of Christopher Street Day and the meaning of this day. It is important that you understand why we celebrate this day and what it symbolizes.
-
Find out in advance where and when the event will take place and what rules apply. Make sure you have all the important information and are there early enough.
-
Pack a bag with everything you need for the day. This includes comfortable clothing and shoes, enough water and snacks, sunscreen, a rain jacket (if necessary), and your medication if you need it.
-
Show respect for other participants and the neighborhood by dressing appropriately and behaving politely. Even though the CSD should of course be fun - with a good mood, loud music and a drink or two - don't lose sight of the core of the event (demonstration).
-
Be ready to raise your voice and stand up for equality and diversity. Bring a banner or sign to show your support, or wear an LGBT+ symbol to show your solidarity. In our shop you will find everything you need. From flags, above bracelet, The Fashion Article up to The LGBTQ fan article like facepaint, pins or tattoos.
Christopher Street Day is an important day to fight for equality and diversity. With the checklist above, you should be well prepared to attend the demonstration and make your voice heard. Have fun!
